Laurel Park, 4201 Congress Street. This is the big one in the SouthPark area. It opened in the former Village Tavern space and immediately landed on everyone's list. Modern Mediterranean and Italian, all house-made ingredients, beautiful indoor-outdoor layout. Reviews have been strong across the board. The beet hummus, the hamachi crudo, the pasta. Go before the reservations get harder.
South Block, Ballantyne. The award-winning Charlotte-born acai bowl and smoothie shop brought its first Ballantyne location to the area. Made-to-order smoothies, acai bowls, cold-pressed juices. It's the kind of spot that becomes part of your weekly routine fast.
Postino Ballantyne is newer to the Ballantyne Village lineup and has already developed a loyal following. Italian-style wine bar and small plates, $6 wine daily, and a brunch program that's worth knowing about.
More is coming. South Charlotte consistently draws new restaurant concepts because the demographics here support it. Households with real disposable income, families who go out regularly, professionals who expect quality.
That same dynamic is what makes this one of the most desirable areas to buy in the Charlotte Metro. The lifestyle is real, not just a selling point.
